Man Charged In Parking Lot Fatal Stabbing, Connecticut State Police Say

A man was arrested and charged with murder following a stabbing in a Colchester parking lot, state police said.

Connecticut State Police troopers were dispatched to a parking lot on Renee Drive at approximately 8 p.m. on Thursday night, following a 911 call regarding a man down. Upon arrival at the lot, police found a man unresponsive in the parking lot with stab wounds.

Police said that paramedics responded to the scene and administered emergency aid, though the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.

According to police, the investigation into the fatal stabbing identified Colchester resident Elmar Baker as a suspect. He was later arrested and charged with murder. Baker is currently being held on $2 million bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwich Superior Court on Wednesday to face the charge.
